Jeffrey Calhoun, OD, FAAO

Education:

Dr. Calhoun graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1992 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Calhoun’s internship was at the Illinois Eye Institute, also in Chicago. His externship training was at Olympia Fields Osteopathic Hospital in Olympia Fields, Illinois and at Warren-Barr Nursing Home in Chicago, Illinois.

Personal Information:

Dr. Calhoun is an Adjunct Professor of Clinical Medicine at Daemen College and at D’Youville College and is a lecturer on Glaucoma for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Calhoun has passed the testing necessary to become a New York State Certified Low Vision Specialist working with patients with severe visual impairments. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, New York State Optometric Association, & the local Western New York Optometric Association. Dr. Calhoun is the Immediate Past-President of the WNYSO and is currently the Vice-President of NYSOA. Dr. Calhoun is also proud to serve as the Vision Source network Administrator for Western New York.

Dr. Calhoun has also earned the prestigious status of Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and has served as drug study coordinator for several FDA drug studies for new Glaucoma and Dry Eye Syndrome medications. He lives with his wife, Carol, daughter Julianna, and son Evan in Williamsville.
